Our Work

Our Approach

Ours is an integrated approach that combines studies in model organisms and in human cells, with bioinformatics and mathematical modelling. The fruit fly is amenable to multiple gene screening as well as to in-depth regulation studies at the organism level. As cell proliferation mechanisms are highly conserved throughout evolution, we can extrapolate our findings from the fruit fly to humans, and test the relevance of the data in human disease development. We collaborate with a variety of in-house groups, and also with labs in the UK, Italy, Germany, France, and US, in order to complement our own expertise, and to strengthen and accelerate the work.
