Project Description:

Studying the phenomenon of aging, a process characterized by progressive structural and functional decline in multiple tissues resulting in increased probability of death, and trying to extend lifespan have been long-standing interests of mankind. The molecular mechanisms driving multiple biological processes which contribute to aging, have been target of intensive research efforts during the last decade, yet the causes of this complex process remain elusive. Accumulating evidence implicates a strong association between telomere length and human aging. I aim to further explore the causality relationship between telomere dysfunction and aging using a zebrafish model.
