Welcome to the website of the 4th Annual Meeting of Gulbenkian Students (AMeeGuS)
This year's meeting will take place from 21 to 23 January 2010 in Hotel do Mar in Sesimbra, Portugal.
The primary goal of this PhD retreat is to create an open, inspiring and comfortable atmosphere for all PhD students of the Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência to discuss their research among peers, with a small number of expert lectures to tickle our brains. The Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência is multidisciplinary, and focuses on creative, fundamental research in Biology. Her students are stimulated to think creatively and transcendentally, and use communication rather than the newest technological tools to be competitive scientists. In this light, we have invited four senior scientists who have shown, each in their own way, how creativity and curiosity can be tremendous driving forces behind scientific progress.
This website is created to keep everyone updated about this meeting, as well as to introduce you to this year's speakers, sponsors, and organizing committee. As our preparations for this meeting advance, we will post more information on this website. Check our practical information page for information on the hotel, and for details on several other important things such as posters, presentations, travel, etc. If you would like more information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Registration is now officially closed! For any issues regarding your registration, please contact us; for issues regarding the submission of your abstract/title, please contact Barbara Vreede directly: bvreede [at] igc [dot] gulbenkian [dot] pt.
We are looking forward with all of you to another great meeting this year!
