Image I did my PhD in the laboratory of Prof. Alberto Darszon, at the Instituto de Biotecnología, UNAM, in Mexico. Together, we discovered and characterized the chemotactic response of Lytechinus pictus sea urchin sperm.

In 2011 I moved from the sperm to the centrosome field and joined Dr. Bettencourt-Dias' lab. Here, I will focus on understanding how centriole biogenesis is regulated in space and time. I am developing image processing tools and computational models, in combination with experimental assays, to tackle the problem from a highly quantitative perspective.
